Privacy Policy

Zabanak ("we", "us") is an app that translates speech, subtitles videos and dubs videos into Farsi. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, which you use to sign in (or the details Apple or Google share with us if you sign in with them), and a display name if you add one.

Speech, audio and video you choose to translate. When you use live translation, read-aloud or live subtitles, the audio from your microphone (or, on Android, the sound playing on your device) is sent to our servers and our speech providers to be transcribed, translated and, if you ask, read aloud. When you dub a video, the video's sound (and, for some video formats, the whole video) is sent to our servers to create the dub.

We do not store the audio, transcripts or translations from live sessions on our servers. Transcripts you save are kept only on your device, in History.

Usage and purchases. How many minutes of each feature you use, your plan and its renewal dates, your purchases and subscriptions (confirmed by the App Store or Google Play; we never receive your card details), and invite codes you share or redeem.

Device and diagnostic information. A random identifier we create for your device (we store only a scrambled form of it), your device model, operating system and app version, your app language and country setting, and technical reports when something goes wrong (for example, which step failed and how long it took).

How you use the app. Which screens you open and which features and buttons you use. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we collect this only if you agree (see section 6).

Messages you send us. If you contact us by email or through the form on this website, we receive what you write and, if you give them, your name, email address and phone type. We use them only to reply and to improve Zabanak.

We never collect the content of what you say, your translations, your videos or your saved transcripts for analytics, and we do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

2. How we use it

To provide the app's features: translate, subtitle, read aloud and dub.
To run your account: sign-in, your plan, minutes, purchases and invites.
To send you service emails, such as sign-in codes and a reminder before a free trial ends.
To keep the app secure and working: preventing abuse of free time and invites, and finding and fixing errors.
To understand which features are used, so we can improve the app.
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We share information only with service providers that help us run Zabanak, and only what they need to do their job:

Cloud hosting and database providers that run our servers and store account and usage records.
Speech, translation and voice providers that transcribe audio, translate text and generate spoken audio.
Email delivery provider, for sign-in codes and service emails.
Apple and Google, to sign you in (if you choose them) and to process purchases and subscriptions.

These providers process information on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect it at least as well as this policy does. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our users or our service.

4. Where your information is processed

Our servers and main providers are located in the United States, and some providers may process information in other countries where they operate. When we transfer information out of your country, we rely on safeguards required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

Live audio: processed as you speak; not stored by us after the session.
Video dubbing: our servers keep only a temporary working copy (the video's sound, or the whole video for some formats) and the dub being made, and delete them about a day after you last use them. Your videos and finished dubs stay on your device until you delete them.
Account, plan, usage and purchase records: while your account exists, and afterwards only as long as required for legal, tax or accounting purposes, without linking them to you.
Usage and diagnostic reports: up to 13 months.
Saved transcripts and dubs: on your device only, until you delete them or delete the app.
Messages sent through this website: as long as needed to handle them, and no longer than 24 months.

6. Your choices and rights

Delete your account: in the app, go to Account › Delete account. This deletes your account and the information linked to it, as described above.
Usage statistics (EEA, UK, Switzerland): you are asked once whether we may collect them. You can change your answer at any time in Account › Help improve Zabanak.
Permissions: you can turn off microphone, photo library and notification access in your device settings; the related features will then not work.
Access, correction and other rights: depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use these rights, contact us at support@zabanak.app or the contact form.

Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland): we process information to perform our contract with you (providing the app and your account), for our legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse, fixing errors, answering your messages), with your consent (usage statistics), and to meet legal obligations.

7. Children

Zabanak is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We protect information in transit with encryption and limit access to it. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
